Physical therapy on leg

Physiotherapy uses movement to heal.

Holistic physiotherapy is where we recognise that a human being is a whole lot more than a collection of muscles, bones and connective tissues.  Current research in the scientific field of physiotherapy is moving more and more in this direction, and evidence for adopting a 'biopsychosocial' (holistic) approach, is overwhelming.  Holistic physiotherapy looks at the person as whole, including emotional, mental and spiritual aspects that may affect the physical body as well as past experiences/trauma and current life circumstances.   Caroline has 20 years experience as chartered physiotherapist in the NHS and in private practice, across a broad range of clinical areas.

Physiotherapy can help with:

  • New & long-standing pain conditions

  • Sports injuries

  • Neurological conditions

  • Respiratory conditions

  • Reduced mobility/falls/balance issues

  • Weakness & stiffness

Massage is a popular and hugely beneficial treatment to bring about relaxation, release of tension and overall wellbeing.  Massage affects the muscles, connective tissue and the nervous system and can significantly reduce pain and promote a sense of ease in the body (and mind).  Caroline brings massage therapy into many of her treatment approaches including Physiotherapy, Breath Therapy and Bespoke Therapy, and currently does not offer massage as a stand-alone service.

Massage + reiki is a beautifully holistic treatment and works so well together to achieve big shifts in all areas of your being.

Reiki Treatment

Reiki harnesses the universal life force energy that is all around us (in yoga terms this is called Prana, in traditional Chinese medicine it is known as Chi).  We don't really have word for this because here in the West, we have very much lost touch with these subtle, natural energies.  In modern scientific terms, we can think of it as natural bio-magnetic energy.

In a reiki session, the practitioner channels the reiki energy, and makes it available to the client.  Reiki is a deeply relaxing and healing energy that can help to support us on all levels - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Just some of the benefits include: relieves stress, helps with processing of trauma, reduces pain & inflammation, supports with anxiety & depression, aids tissue healing, clears 'blocks' for practical tasks, develops feelings of balance in the body, mind & spirit.   Caroline has been trained and attuned to level 4 (Reiki Master or Teacher level).

Intention is an important element of a reiki session, and it is helpful if you come to the appointment with a clear idea of what you would like the reiki to help with.  Caroline can help you with this if you are unsure.

60 min Reiki session - £80

45 min Reiki session -£65

90 min Massage + Reiki - £105

Caroline also runs Reiki Level 1 and 2 courses throughout the year.  Information on these courses will be updated soon!

Kundalini Yoga Outside

The breath is probably the simplest, but also the most powerful tool we have at our disposal to transform our physical and mental health.  Indeed, breath is life-force itself.

Many of us have developed unhelpful breathing habits throughout our lives, and this can have very real negative impact on our bodies and state of mind.  Breath assessment can bring to light specific facets of the breath with may be inhibiting our natural good health, and by learning tailored and specific breathing practices we can have profound effects on our nervous system (which is really the key to everything).

Breath Assessment 60 min - £95

Follow Up 60 min - £85
